I haven’t been posting much because about a week and a half ago I fell from the third step of a ladder and landed flat on my back on the tile floor. Luckily I didn’t break anything this time but I have definitely been sore. I am actually more sore now than I was the first few days after I did it. Yes, I am a klutz. And I haven’t been running either. I tried once and it wasn’t good so I figured I better wait for a bit. All this makes me cranky and therefore I do not post. Who feels like posting when you’re cranky? Also, it kills my tailbone if I sit for long and that surely cuts down on the time I spend at the computer. It has greatly increased the spring cleaning going on around here though. One can get a lot of cleaning done while standing, which is the most comfortable right now.

The plain vanilla socks are finally past the gusset decreases. I really like this Trekking colorway!

I made a pair of mittens from some handpsun that has been in my yarn cabinet forever. The handspun is a Rambouillet and Angora blend and the mittens feel heavenly when on your hands. I have decided I need to make a better effort to knit up all this handspun, so you’ll be seeing a lot more handspun projects.

The car seat organizer is finished and in use in Michael’s truck. He likes it quite  a bit. I originally got the pattern to make this for my car, but I made one for him first and now I don’t feel like making it again for myself. Maybe in a month or so I’ll feel like it.

I finished the pajama pants too. I like these quite a bit but they are a little big. I will make one size down the next time I make them, and there will be a next time for sure.

My goals for this week….. to have my tailbone stop hurting!

Happy Wednesday!

The goal of making it to the heel flaps of the boot socks was made. I should be able to finish these this week considering they are being knit on 6’s. Socks on 6’s…whoa!

I made my goal of getting a couple of inches done on the top down raglan too. I snapped this picture when I took it off the needles to see if I had increased enough. I added a few more rounds and then separated the sleeves and I am now just working on the body. Did I mention how much I love the colorway of this yarn?

And I also made my goal of finishing up the mittens. It’s amazing how much one can accomplish when one sits on their butt all day long. These are for Alexis and I think I will wrap them up and add them to the Christmas presents.

The Snowboarders Hat is nearly done also. I just have to block it, weave in a few ends and add braids to the ear flaps. Really only the ear flaps need blocking as they are curling up. This hat is for Michael and I’ll get a picture of him modeling it as soon as it’s really done and he’s home when it’s still light out. I had a hard time putting this down this past week.

The handspun scarf was never taken out of the knitting bag this week. Gasp! My goal is to work on it a little bit so it doesn’t feel left out and maybe start something new. I want to make two more Christmas gifts… a men’s pair of fingerless mitts and another hat, so it will most likely be one of those two.

The foot is taking its sweet time in getting better. It goes something like this: The foot starts to feel better…I take a few tentative steps on the walking cast and if there is no pain…I somehow do too much, then my foot swells up and I am back on the couch for a few days. Then my foot feels better…I take a few steps…etc., etc. It swelled up so bad last week, I thought I was going to have to go in and have the cast cut off for a while there. There have been more than a few pity parties here the last few weeks. I don’t make a very good patient for this long. It’s just too long!

The boot socks are slightly bigger than last week. My goal for this week is to get to the heel flaps on both socks. Easy Peasy.

The top down raglan is also a little bigger than last week. I should have made more progress on this sweater this week. My goal is to get a good couple inches done on it this week.

I finally started the other handspun mitten. My goal is to get these finished and off the needles.

And because I don’t have projects on the needles, I started another one. This is the snowboarders hat pattern and I am using my handspun for this also, held doubled. I have a thing for earflap hats as you can probably tell. My goal is to get the earflaps joined in the round and do one round of the cable pattern.

I didn’t take a picture of the handspun scarf, but it’s probably another couple of inches bigger than the last picture. It’s hard to have a goal on this one, other than to just keep plugging away at it.

The handspun socks are at the toe decreases again and my goal is to finish them in the next day or two.

I was able to catch up with the mystery sock clues this past week. Clue #4 came out today and my goal is to try to stay on top of these so I can finish along with everyone else next week. We’ll see how that goes.

I finally fixed the Unoriginal Hat. Today to be exact, so I didn’t have to type that I blew off fixing it again. I took out about 5 - 6 rows and it is perfect now. I don’t know why I drag my feet all the time with fixing things. This fix took me about 20 minutes total to do and over two weeks to actually start the fix.

I am pretty sure I will be making a few more of these so I can finally use up the Thick & Quick that has been living in my stash for a really long time. Sorry there isn’t a modeled shot, but I am so not a hat person. This one is a Christmas present for a niece.

Pattern: An Unoriginal Hat
Yarn: Wool Ease Thick & Quick in Claret
Needles: US 11
Started: 9/28/08
Finished: 10/22/08

I also started another pair of handspun mittens for Alexis this week because I was sick of everything else I was working on. I really enjoy making mittens. My goal is to finish the thumb on mitten #1 and get the cuff of #2 done.
